May My Words Be Acceptable to God

Hello Everyone,

I hope you are well. I apologise for the long silence via my Faith Blog, I have been busy juggling a number of responsibilities. Also, I took time to rest for two weeks. Due to the various responsibilities that the Lord has given me, sometimes, I do not have enough time to rest. However, I have been intentional in scheduling a time to rest regularly as rest is important. In fact, Jesus said to His disciples, "Come ye apart and rest for a little while (Mark 6:31b)."

I recently read a Prayer in the Bible that David said to God. I believe it is a prayer that we can all pray. In Psalms 19:14, David prayed by saying"Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my Strength and my Redeemer (NKJV version)."

Can I encourage you to also pray Psalms 19:14? You can read it above. After you have finished praying the Scripture, I would like you to reflect on the following:

 - Are your words acceptable to God?

- Do you speak carelessly or positively?

- Are your thoughts controlled by the Holy Spirit? Proverbs 4:23 reminds us that we have a choice of what we think about. "Be careful what you think, because your thoughts run your life."

- Since you have a choice over what you think about, be deliberate in pushing away the thoughts of worries, insecurities, and criticisms that are on your mind.

As we read in Psalm 19:14, David recognised the importance of asking God to help him with what came out of his mouth and what he thought about.

When your words and thoughts are not pleasing to God, they are most likely going to damage you and others who are around you. However, when your words and thoughts are pleasing to God, they will build you up positively and they will encourage others.

I would like to encourage you to reflect Christ in your words and watch your words diligently by ensuring that the words that come out of your mouths build you up and encourage those who hear them.

Are you aware that our Lord God said that, on the day of judgement, we shall all give account of every careless word that we utter? If that is the Lord's plan, what manner of words do you think you should speak?

May your words and thoughts be full of grace in Jesus' name.

Have a lovely day!

Yours in Christ,

Mysses Lafunky
