God Speaks In The Most Unexpected of Times

Hello Everyone,

How are you? I hope you've had a lovely week and you're looking forward to the weekend. At church, we've been teaching the children how to 'catch' from God. Also, we've been reminding them that God can speak to them at any time. This could be when they are still in God's presence or it could be when they least expect Him to speak to them.

We are engaging in various practical exercises with the children to bring the teachings alive.

I'd love to remind you of some people in the Bible that the Lord spoke to in unexpected moments.

1) In Exodus 3:1-19, God spoke to Moses when he was going about his everyday task as he was tending the flock of his father-in-law.

2) In Genesis 18:1, the Lord spoke to Abraham as he was enjoying the lovely warm weather outside.

3) In John 21:7-17, Jesus spoke to Peter while he was fishing.

I remember a time that I was tidying up the kitchen and the Lord shared a piece of delicate information with me. As soon as the Lord shared the information with me, I immediately voiced out what He had said to my husband who was in the kitchen with me. My husband's response was "I know, as God had told me."

Someone I know usually says that God speaks to her whenever she is in the toilet.

What has been your journey of hearing God’s voice in the most unexpected moments? Where on the journey are you?

I love hearing from you in the comment section. Please take a minute to say hello in the comment section.

Have a lovely evening!

Yours in Christ,

Are You Being Shaped by The Holy Spirit?

Hello Everyone,

How are you doing? I hope you've had a lovely week and you're looking forward to a great weekend. I also hope you've had a lovely Easter celebration.

Yesterday, as I was preparing for the children's Sunday School for this coming Sunday, I pondered on the role of the Holy Spirit that Jesus left with us when He ascended to heaven. Let me give you a little bit of background to the story of Jesus' ascension, you can also read it here and here.

The friends of Jesus were so pleased that He was alive. One day, Jesus took His disciples up a hill. He explained that the time had come for Him to go back to Heaven. However, He said they would not be left alone because soon a Special Helper called the Holy Spirit would come to them.

One of the roles of the Holy Spirit is to shape you to become who God has created you to be. He does this by regularly reminding you of what Jesus has taught you. John 14:26 (AMP version) says "But the Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will help you remember everything that I have told you."

Do you allow the Holy Spirit to teach you all things?

Do you respond to His teachings?

Are you being shaped by the Holy Spirit?

The Holy Spirit would like to shape you more in the area of forgiving others. Are you ready to be shaped by Him?

Do you stylishly read someone's social media platform status but you don't want them to know?

Does someone's name pops into your mind and you boil with anger?

Are you a Christian?

Do you know that the journey of Christianity on this earth is a journey of living in forgiveness?

Can you say this prayer?

Holy Spirit, increase my capacity to love others.

Increase my capacity to love those that have offended me.

Increase my capacity to love those that have irritated me or still irritating me in Jesus' name, Amen.

The love of God has been shed upon your heart and God loves you regardless of the stage you are in your spiritual growth. Why not extend the same love of God that you enjoy to others?

The Holy Spirit would like to shape you more in the area of forgiving others.

Are you ready to be shaped by Him?

Don't resist the help of the Holy Spirit.

I love hearing from you in the comment section. Please take a minute to say hello in the comment section.

Have a lovely Friday!

Yours in Christ,

It's time to Shine for God

Hello Everyone,

How is your preparation for Easter? Easter is an opportunity for you to reflect on how the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ have transformed so many lives in the world.

It's also an opportunity for you to reflect on the life that you are living. Are you shining the light of Christ that is in you?

Isaiah 60:1-3 says "Arise, shine; for your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people; but the Lord will arise over you, and His glory will be seen upon you. The Gentiles shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising."

The world is getting darker but the light that you carry is greater than darkness. Why don't you confound the darkness by shining the light of God in you?

Arise and shine!

Live out the life that God has given you.

Keep shining the light of God that is in you.

Arise and shine!

Enjoy the rest of your week and have a lovely Easter.

Yours in Christ,

Mysses Lafunky
