Stand in the Gap of Prayer on behalf of others

Hello Everyone,

Happy New Week! How was your weekend? I hope you had a lovely Christmas celebration.

The Lord said in Ezekiel 22:30 that "I looked for someone who might rebuild the wall of righteousness that guards the land. I searched for someone to stand in the gap in the wall so I wouldn’t have to destroy the land, but I found no one."

Seriously? So, God found no one to stand in the gap of prayer? Really?

Could the people have thought there were some people interceding to God on behalf of their land?

Could the people have thought they will intercede to God on behalf of their land later? As per procastination?

Could the people have been discouraged in the place of prayer?

You have a responsibility to intercede in the place of prayer for your beloved country and those the Lord lays on your heart.

The heart of God is searching for those who will answer the call to stand in the gap to pray for others and their nation. As you are standing in the gap in the place of prayer, sometimes you may wait for many years to witness God's answer to the prayer that you are interceding to God about, or it may occur beyond your lifetime on this earth.

Abraham believed God would give him descendants that were more than the stars in heaven. Do you know that Abraham did not live to see the promise? Nevertheless, he believed the promise would come to pass. Aren't we all a descendant of Abraham? Aren't we all a fulfilment of God's promise to Abraham?

So, as you intercede on behalf of your nation, be encouraged and know that one day God will answer your prayers. Keep praying! Keep interceding!

A Scripture for you: Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere (Ephesians 6:18).

Have a lovely evening!

Yours in Christ,

Mysses Lafunky

Speak with Grace

Hello Everyone,

Compliments of the season! It's the season of Christmas. I hope you are keeping well. Today, I'd like to equip you with the truth of God's Word about "Speaking with Grace."

There are times when actions matter most. There are even times when your mere presence matters most. But there are times when words that you speak openly or privately matter a lot to God. Is this something that you regularly think about?

Do you always remember that the presence of the Lord is with you at all times?

So, wherever you are, speak with grace. Also, ask for the presence of the Lord that is with you to guide whatever you say or write.

Let me share two Scriptures to encourage you today:

1) Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear (Ephesians 4:29).

2) Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry (James 1:19).

As you go into the holiday season, remember that words that you speak openly or privately matter a lot to God.

I love hearing from you in the comment section. Please take a minute to say hello in the comment section.

Have a lovely week!

Yours in Christ,

Mysses Lafunky

God is the God of Process

It's a New Week!

Happy Monday Everyone! I hope you've had a lovely weekend. God has been reminding me this season that He is the God of process and as a Christian, I must not bypass His process to achieve growth. There are some growths that are not God's agenda for us as Christians. God has the right time for every growth that He would like us to experience. He is the God of Process.

Why does it take at least 38 weeks for the formation of a baby in a mother's womb?

Why do trees and plants take time to grow and blossom?

Why does the harvesting of crops take seasons before you can get a nice and lovely fruit out of the tree?

Even, God's creation took a couple of days before God finished creating the world.

Sometimes the process of a thing may be short or long but the most important thing is, there is a process for everything that we experience on earth. Do you sometimes take a pause and ask God to tell you His plan about what you are going through or what you are waiting for?

Hebrews 10:36 says "You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what He has promised."

Whose will should you do? The will of God.

Who should persevere? You!

Joseph went through a process before God lifted him up. God moulded Joseph through his various experiences.

- Jesus went through a process before He died and rose again. He went through various temptations on this earth and He overcame them. I hope you know that the temptations weren't limited to the ones in the wilderness.

- David also went through a process before he became king, albeit he had been anointed a very long time. One would have thought David would become king immediately after he was anointed but no, he had to go through a process that tested his patience, humility, his character, his heart, his love, amongst many other things. David had to wait for God's appointed time. Essentially, he was anointed but waited for God's appointed time.

Is Pride Lurking In Your Heart?

It's a New Week!

Happy Monday Everyone!

I hope you had a lovely weekend. My weekend was full of a number of activities which I thoroughly enjoyed. Yesterday was also beautiful as I spent time with our church family. I didn't feel like leaving church. It was such a great time in God's presence and with God's people.

This week's post is an opportunity for you to search your heart if pride is lurking in your heart. A humble prayer you could pray to God is "Lord Jesus, search me and show me the state of my heart, please reveal to me where pride is lurking in my heart."

Do you know that pride is an enemy? As Christians, do you know that you are to resist pride in your life?

Pride makes you see yourself as greater than you are. It gives you an unrealistic view of yourself. Pride also makes you to be very critical of others. The Lord isn't keen on those that are proud. Proverbs 16:5 says "Everyone that is proud in heart is an abomination to the Lord; though they join hands, they shall not go unpunished."

Let me share a story in the Bible about a Commander of the Syrian armies with you:

Are you living on the benefits of Thanksgiving?

Hello Everyone,

How are you today? I hope you are well?

We are living in a society where a number of people aren't aware of the benefits that they are entitled to. As a professional that works for the government, I regularly equip people on what they are entitled to. I also have to keep abreast with the laws and guidance so that I can give the right advice to people as I wouldn't want anyone to miss out on their entitlements. But do you know what? A number of Christians do miss out on their entitlements or they aren't aware of their kingdom entitlements. They aren't aware of what the Lord has done for them.

As a teacher of the Word, a Faith Blogger, a Church Pastor, an Evangelist, and an Author (I wear many hats), I thought to remind you of some of the kingdom benefits of being a Christian during this Thanksgiving season.

1 Corinthians 15:57 says "But thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ."

Who gives you victory? God

Through whom? Jesus Christ

When last did you thank God for the victory that you have in Christ?

Psalm 103:1-5, GNT says:

"Praise the Lord, my soul! All my being, praise His holy name! Praise the Lord, my soul, and do not forget how kind He is. He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases. He keeps me from the grave and blesses me with love and mercy. He fills my life with good things so that I stay young and strong like an eagle.

Praise the Lord, O my soul; all my inmost being, praise His holy name. Praise the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits; who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases."

The above Psalm is reminding you that God forgives ALL your sins and not some sins. God heals ALL diseases and not some diseases. God keeps you from the grave and blesses you with His love and mercy. These are some of the kingdom benefits for those that honour the Lord.

As you celebrate today's Thanksgiving, please take time out to remember all the benefits of the Lord over you, your family, and your nation. Give thanks to God.

Your Good Character will Open Great Doors for You!

Hello Everyone,

I hope your week is going on well. It has been at least 2 weeks since I shared an article via my blog. I had been checking with God to confirm what He would like me to share with you. Recently, God said He would like me to equip you with the truth of His Word about 'good character'.

Do you know that a good character with a good attitude can open great doors for you?

You may have the best skills and can perform your task exceptionally well but do you know what will keep you at your job or whatever you are doing (whether paid or unpaid)? It is a good character. When you have a good character, people will be able to relate with you freely, people will be able to trust you and you will have a good name.

You can teach people talents and skills, but a good character is something that most people have developed. Let me share an account from the Bible with you:

In those days when the number of disciples was increasing and some people's needs were being overlooked. The 12 disciples gathered together and spoke among themselves saying that it would not be right for them to neglect the ministry of the Word of God in order to wait on tables to meet some other needs. They decided to choose seven men of good and attested character and repute, full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom, whom they assigned to look after the people (Acts 6).

The first thing that the disciples prioritised was a good and attested character, then came 'filled with Holy Ghost and wisdom.' So as much as talent and gift are good, if you do not have a good character, people may struggle to work with you or may not want to relate with you.

Would you please take time to reflect on your character?

I'd like to encourage you to build your life on good character. A solid character will take you far in life.

To build a good character, consider the following:

1) Grow closer to God and follow His Word - You will grow in good character as you spend time in God's Word.

2) Fellowship with people with good character - If the Bible says that bad company corrupts good manners (1 Corinthians 15:33), the opposite of this is, good company promotes good manners. So take time to be with people with good character, they will rub off on you. If you spend a lot of time with people with bad manners, they will also rub off on you.

3) Understand the boundaries that are required to follow wherever you find yourself.

4) Ask God to open your eyes to what you need to improve in your character.

I love hearing from you in the comment section. Please take a minute to say hello in the comment section.

Enjoy the rest of your week.

Yours in Christ,

Mysses Lafunky

The Importance of Christian Fellowship

Hello Everyone,

How are you? I hope your week is off to a great start.

Yesterday, we had a light party for the children at the kids' church and it was such a beautiful event. All the children were full of joy, they had fun engaging in different creative Biblical activities that were centred on 'Be The Light'. Most of the children did not want to leave the kids' church as they had too much fun with one another.

The children's light party made me reflect on the importance of fellowshipping with other Christians. Sometimes we underestimate the benefits of spending time with our church family. I would like to share 3 benefits of why we should spend time with our church family.

1) There is something special when we sing and pray together. We are strengthened in the place of prayer and we are sharpened in the things of God. After all, Proverbs 27:17 says "Iron can sharpen iron. In the same way, people can help each other."

2) We are able to socialise and celebrate with one another. If your countenance is different from how you are normally, your church family would likely check on you and support you accordingly.

3) Creating time to fellowship with our church family helps us to develop a number of people's skills (how to relate with others, listening skills, patience, punctuality, improving your talents and skills, serving one another, and many more).

When Jesus Christ was on earth, most of the time, He spent time with His disciples. This is a reminder that Christ is the perfect model of the importance of fellowship.

I love hearing from you in the comment section. Please take a minute to share why you create time to fellowship with other Christians.

Have a lovely week!

God, The Good and Great Shepherd

Hello Everyone,

How are you doing? I hope you are well. Recently, I asked my Bible Study group members to reflect on Psalm 23 by using different Bible versions. They felt refreshed after spending time reading Psalm 23 in different Bible versions. I thought it would only be fair for Mysses Lafunky's readers to benefit from this study. Thus, I'd like you to read and reflect on Psalm 23.

Psalm 23 (TPT version) states:

Yahweh is my best friend and my shepherd.
I always have more than enough - Verse 1.

He offers a resting place for me in his luxurious love.
His tracks take me to an oasis of peace near the quiet brook of bliss - Verse 2.

That’s where he restores and revives my life.
He opens before me the right path
and leads me along in his footsteps of righteousness
so that I can bring honour to his name - Verse 3.

Even when your path takes me through
the valley of deepest darkness,
fear will never conquer me, for you already have!
Your authority is my strength and my peace.
The comfort of your love takes away my fear.
I’ll never be lonely, for you are near - Verse 4.

You become my delicious feast
even when my enemies dare to fight.
You anoint me with the fragrance of your Holy Spirit;
you give me all I can drink of you until my cup overflows - Verse 5.

So why would I fear the future?
Only goodness and tender love pursue me all the days of my life.
Then afterwards, when my life is through,
I’ll return to your glorious presence to be forever with you! - Verse 6.

Did any words stick out to you from the above Psalm 23?

Is there anything that you need right now that was mentioned in Psalm 23?

I love hearing from you in the comment section. Please take a minute to say ‘hello’ by leaving a comment.

Walk the Walk & Talk the Talk as a Christian

Hello Everyone,

How are you? I hope you are good. I was thinking as a Christian, how much of the Word of God do we know? I believe an average Christian listens to sermons at least once a week, right? But the question is, are we putting the Word of God that we know into practice?

God would like you to do both. He would like you to know Him and put His Word into practice. God wants you to walk the walk, talk the talk and live the life of a Christian.

You don't need to use your own willpower to put God's Word into practice, God is ready to help you. However, it is a collaborative work between you and the Holy Spirit.

Philippians 2:12 says “Continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfil his good purpose.”

There is a role for you to "work out" your salvation. There's a role for you to take your spiritual growth seriously by responding to the Word of God that you are hearing or reading.

Romans 12:2b says “Let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think.”

The question is, are you allowing God to transform you on a daily basis?

To be transformed is for you to change completely, in your appearance, and your character and to become better.

I love hearing from you in the comment section. Please take a minute to say ‘hello’ by leaving a comment.

Yours in Christ,

Mysses Lafunky

5 Things the Blood of Jesus Christ has done for You

 Hello Everyone,

I hope you are well and keeping safe. Happy Monday! Yesterday, I preached a sermon in church about the Blood of Jesus. It was a glorious service. Glory to be God! I would like to equip you with the truth of God's Word about the power in the Blood of Jesus Christ. Let me share 5 things the Blood of Jesus Christ has done for you.

1) The Blood of Jesus Christ has given you victory over the enemy (the devil). Regardless of any storm that you go through, rest assured that God's plan for you is to be victorious as the blood of Jesus Christ has paved the way for you. Did you know that the blood of Jesus was one of the things that granted angel Michael victory over the devil when war broke out in heaven? Read Revelation 12:7-11 for more information.

It's important to note that as you call upon the Blood of Jesus to work for you, you must give yourself completely to God. You must stand against the devil and its strategies so that he will flee from you (James 4:7).  The seven sons of Sceva were overthrown and overpowered by the devil because they had not given themselves completely to Jesus Christ (Acts 19:11-16).

2) You have received the forgiveness of sin by the Blood of JesusHebrews 12:24 (NLT) says "You have come to Jesus, the one who mediates the new covenant between God and people, and to the sprinkled blood, which speaks of forgiveness instead of crying out for vengeance like the blood of Abel."

Matthew 26:28 (NLT) says "For this is my blood, which confirms the covenant between God and his people. It is poured out as a sacrifice to forgive the sins of many."

3) You have been made right in God's sight by the Blood of Jesus. Romans 5:9 says "And since we have been made right in God's sight by the blood of Christ, He will certainly save us from God's condemnation."

We had all fallen short of God's glorious standards (Romans 3:23). Colossians 1:21-22 (NLT) says "This includes you who were once far away from God. You were His enemies, separated from Him by your evil thoughts and actions. Yet now He has reconciled you to Himself through the death of Christ in His physical body. As a result, He has brought you into His own presence, and you are holy and blameless as you stand before Him without a single fault.”

Thanks be to Jesus Christ for restoring our relationship with God.

4) By the Blood of Jesus, you have bold access to approach God in prayer and worship. Hebrews 10:19 (NLT) says "And so, dear brothers and sisters, we can boldly enter heaven’s Most Holy Place because of the blood of Jesus."

Whenever you feel like staying away from God after you have made a mistake. Could I please encourage you to do the opposite of your feeling? Please go to God and ask Him for forgiveness, confess your sin and forsake your sin.

5) You have been saved from a life of sin by the Blood of Jesus.

1 Peter 1:18-19 (NLT) says "For you know that God paid a ransom to save you from the empty life you inherited from your ancestors. And it was not paid with mere gold or silver, which lose their value. It was the precious blood of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God."

You have been bought with a price, with the precious blood of Jesus. Only the precious blood of Jesus could pay for your redemption back to God's family. The Father purchased you back to Himself with the blood of His only Son. Therefore, please do not doubt the love God has for you and the incredible value and worth God places on you.

Jesus paid for all your sins by His precious blood. He paid it all. Since He paid for all your sins, He said you belong to Him. Psalm 100:3 says "Acknowledge that the Lord is God! He made us, and we are His. We are His people, the sheep of His pasture."

Do you believe you belong to God and you are no longer your own?

Do you allow God to be the Lord over everything that pertains to you?

I love hearing from you in the comment section. Please take a minute to say ‘hello’ by leaving a comment.

God Can Speak Anywhere and Anytime

Hello Readers & Followers,

How are you? How really are you doing? I hope you are well. Thank God for preserving our lives to see a new week.

Recently, my husband and I were discussing the uniqueness of our God Almighty, and how we are still learning and knowing about Him every day. We also spoke about how God can speak with us anywhere and at any time, and we reminded each other of the importance of not limiting where we think God should speak to us and the timing that He should speak to us. God does not sleep, so He can speak at any time. The Psalmist says in Psalm 122:4 that "Indeed, He who watches over Israel never slumbers or sleeps."

I have written a number of books and in each of the books, God told me the title including the content of the books and He said He had prepared people that would be blessed by the books. My books are available on Amazon. You can search for my name (Funke Ogunoiki) on Amazon to purchase any of my books.

Also, there had been times that a Bible verse keeps coming back to me over and over again through my personal Bible study time or in church or through an online sermon that I listened to or through an article that I read or through something that someone had shared. God always finds a way to speak to us and to get our attention.

God can speak to you anywhere about anything and at any time. I remember a time when I was looking for my ring and how God directed me to where my ring was. I also remember a time God told me that the kingdom of darkness was angry with a message that I taught and how the devil was going to use a fellow Christian to come and attack me. By the time the person was used by the devil to say something, I was alert and I prayed for the person.

With some of my books, God spoke to me about the content while I was looking after my children, feeding them, some, while I was in the kitchen cooking, and some while I was sleeping. My husband recently told me that there was a time that he was in the shower and God spoke to him about a message that we needed to write to produce one of our evangelism tracts. Isn't it amazing to know that God can speak to us anywhere, about anything, and at any time?

I'd like to encourage you to be ready to 'catch' from God as He can speak anywhere and at any time to you. Spend time in His Word so that you can be sure it is God that is speaking to you as God does not contradict Himself.

Prayer:

Dear Jesus,

Thank You for reminding me that You can speak to me anywhere and at any time no matter where I am,

When you are speaking, Lord Jesus, help me to recognise your voice,

When you have spoken, help me to follow your Word

In Jesus' name,

Amen.

Action

When God speaks to you, type His Word to you on your electronic device or in your journal or diary so that you can remember what God has said to you.

I love hearing from you in the comment section. Please take a minute to say ‘hello’ by leaving a comment.

Back To School Prayers

Dear Readers & Followers,

I hope you are keeping well.

I know most of our children are back in school, right? I know you are likely to have prayed for them already or you may have been a part of Back to School Prayers.
I would like to encourage you to keep praying for your child/ren whilst they are in school. A daily prayer for your children will help your children draw close to God and to walk in God's alignment for their lives. Equally, you will draw close to God. However, I know that daily prayer is easy if you have something to pray to God about. Right? I'd love to recommend this prayer book. This prayer book is what I have been using to pray for my children and all the children at The Vine Church. I also pray other prayers as the Holy Spirit leads me.

I would like you to stretch yourself in the place of prayer. I would like you to keep praying for your children. I don't want you to think that because they are back in school, you are done with prayers. Pray until there's a shift.
Using a prayer book can help you to do away with distracting thoughts and it can help you to concentrate. It will also deepen your knowledge of God.

Your prayers matter to God.

The God Who Gives Breath to all Creatures

Hello Readers & Followers,

It's a New Week! How are you doing? In England, today is a bank holiday. A bank holiday is an official public holiday when banks, schools and many businesses are closed for today. Most people take time to relax. If you are in England and you are reading this post today, how do you plan to spend your bank holiday? I will be going shopping shortly as our children need a number of things.

Today's article is an opportunity for us to reflect on God Almighty, the giver of our lives. I believe as Christians, we do not thank God enough or we sometimes assume that saying "Thank You Jesus" sounds like a simple prayer to God. Can I please encourage you to keep lifting up your voice to God by saying thank you to Jesus?  God is the one that gives you breath.

Isaiah 42:5 says "God, the Lord, created the heavens and stretched them out. He created the earth and everything in it. He gives breath to everyone, life to everyone who walks the earth and it is He who says."

Job 12:10 says "For the life of every living thing is in God's hand and the breath of every human being."

Numbers 16:22a says "But Moses and Aaron fell face down on the ground. “O God,” they pleaded, “you are the God who gives breath to all creatures."

Acts 17:25b says "God Himself gives life and breath to everything, and He satisfies every need."

How wonderful that God Himself gives us life and breath, and He gives breath to everything. Glory be to God Almighty!

A Life Built on The Word of God

Hello Readers & Followers,

It's a new week! Happy New Week! I hope you had a lovely weekend. I remembered a sermon that my husband (Pastor Adebola) preached where he made reference to the importance of staying connected to the Word of God. I love how he explained that when a flower is connected to its root, the flower will blossom. However, if the flower is no longer connected to its root, steadily and gradually, the flower will wither. I was challenged by the sermon.

As a reader of my faith blog, I would like to challenge you to build your life on the Word of God. Jesus said in Matthew 7:24 that anyone who LISTENS to His WORDS and PUTS THEM INTO PRACTICE is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.

1) A life built on Scripture shapes your character to become more like Christ.

2) A life built on Scripture helps you to be a person of integrity.
3) A life built on Scripture helps you to forgive easily and not to be easily angered.
4) A life built on Scripture increases your wisdom and helps you to live a life that is the opposite of this world.
5) A life built on Scripture does not envy or become jealous of others.
6) A life built on Scripture does not focus on petty things.
7) A life built on Scripture is not ignorant of the strategies of the evil one.
8) A life built on Scripture grants you joy and peace, not as the world gives.
9) A life built on Scripture lasts for eternity.

Take a pause and reflect on who you are, and your everyday choices. Are you building your life on the Word of God? Ask the Holy Spirit to help you to build your life on the Word of God when it is convenient and not convenient.

Is Having A Good Reputation Important To You?

Hello Readers & Followers,

I hope you are well.  I have been reflecting on the Word of God in the Book of Proverbs 22:1 which says that "A good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold."

The wisdom of God is advising us that if we must choose between having "a good name" (not our names literally but the reputation that is associated when our names are mentioned) or riches, we should choose a good name.

When your name is mentioned, what is the character that is associated with your name? Are you a person of integrity?

Think about those within your network, either at church, at work, or in your friendship groups, you probably have opinions about who they are from the moment their names are mentioned. Some could cause you to smile, some could cause you to be scared, some could cause you to frown, and some could cause you to be irritable. However, let's flip it around when your name is mentioned by others, what do you think their thoughts are? Are you living a life worthy of a good reputation? Can the love of God and the wisdom of God be seen in your actions?

What reputation goes with your name among your family, your workplace, at church, and in your neighbourhood?

Seek God and not just His Promises

Dear Readers & Followers,

I hope you are well. I would like to encourage you to seek (a deep longing) to know God. When you spend time seeking the Lord, He reveals Himself to you, and you get to develop a relationship with God.

This is what the Lord says in Jeremiah 29:12-13, God said "Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart."

We don't want a situation where we only call upon God to tap into His promises but we do not know Him. Do you know the God of the promises that you rely on?

God is not a vending machine that you go to ONLY when you want something. God loves you and longs to be in a relationship with you. Do you seek God in your prayer? Or do you ONLY come to God with a shopping list? Seek God as well as His promises and not just His promises only.

I'd like to ask you, how do you seek God every day?

I love hearing from you in the comment section. Please take a minute to say ‘hello’ by leaving a comment.

How You Should Use Your Mouth As a Christian

Hello Readers & Followers,

How is your week going? I hope you are well.

I'd like to briefly teach on how we can use our mouths as Christians. What does the Word of God say about the use of our mouths?

Ephesians 4:29 says "Don’t use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them."

God is wanting you to say the right thing at the right time and help others by what you say. The Bible says that the words of a wise person's mouth are gracious (Ecclesiastes 10:12). Are your words gracious?

When you speak, don’t say anything bad but say the good things that people need—whatever will help them grow stronger. Then what you say will be a blessing to those who hear you.

Proverbs 21:23 says "Those who guard their mouths and their tongues keep themselves from calamity."

  • Are you saying the things that will help others grow stronger?
  • When you are frustrated, what comes out of your mouth?
  • When you are happy, what comes out of your mouth?
  • When you say something behind someone, what comes out of your mouth?

I'd like to encourage you to avoid using your mouth when:

God can do Far Beyond Your Imagination

Hello Readers & Followers,

It's Friday! Thank God It's Friday. I hope you've had a lovely week.

I'd like to encourage you with the Word of God in Ephesians 3:20, which says "Glory to God, who is able to do far beyond all that we could ask or imagine by his power at work within us."

God is bigger than your imagination. God is far beyond what you are thinking He can do. God can do what your heart has not conceived. Eyes have not seen nor ears have heard neither has it crossed the mind of any human being what God has prepared for those who love him (1 Corinthians 2:9).

12 Reasons You Should Give Thanks to God

Hello Readers & Followers,

It's a New Month! Its July! Happy New Month! Thank God for preserving our lives to see the new month. The Psalmist says in the Book of Psalm 103:2 that "Let all that I am praise the Lord; may I never forget the good things He does for me."

God wants us to REGULARLY thank Him for the numerous blessings that we have in Christ as it is so easy to focus on what is yet to happen. Ephesians 5:20 says "Always use the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to thank God the Father for everything."  When last did you thank God for everything that He has done for you, and still doing for you?

The fact that you are alive, there is hope for you. Thus, there is a reason to thank God. Ecclesiastes 9:4 says "As long as we are alive, we still have hope, just as a live dog is better off than a dead lion."

Let me share 12 REASONS YOU SHOULD GIVE THANKS TO GOD

Do You Have Unsaved Family Members? | Things to Consider with Unsaved Family Members as a Christian

Hello Everyone,

How is your new week going? I have been thinking about what it feels like to be the first Christian in your family. Does it feel exciting or frustrating? Are there things that you have to contend with? Is it easy for you to chat about the teachings of Christ with your families? Or do you try and preach to them and they completely disregard you?

Do you have relatives that believe in the Christian faith but they live contrary to the teachings of Christ? How does it make you feel? I'd like to share 4 things for you to consider when it comes to your unsaved family members.

1) Use Acts 26:18 to pray for them on a regular basis. Acts 26:18 says "Open their eyes, so they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God. Then they will receive forgiveness for their sins and be given a place among God’s people, who are set apart by faith in Christ.”

2) Never give up praying for them. It is the Holy Spirit that convicts people of their sins. John 16:8 says that "The Holy Spirit will come and show the people of this world the truth about sin and righteousness, and judgement."

3) You can also ask God to send daily opportunities for them to hear the gospel or to be convicted of their sins so that they can turn away from their sins and turn to God. The Holy Spirit that stirred the heart of the prodigal son to come back to God after living a reckless life, can stir the heart of your unsaved family members back to God.

To read the story of the prodigal son/the parable of the lost son where Christ showed us His heart towards those that have strayed from His path, please click here.

4) Show them the love of God. Let them see the beauty of living a life for Christ on this earth through you. It's about how you are living more than what you say. The principle in 1 Peter 3:1-2 can be applied to unsaved family members. Let your behaviour show them that you are a Christian; they may be won over to Christ by your conduct.

Finally, remember that they are watching you and whilst they may be living a life that is contrary to the teachings of Christ, they may be very quick to say to you "I thought you are a Christian, you should do this..."
