Hello Everyone,
I hope your week is going on well. It has been at least 2 weeks since I shared an article via my blog. I had been checking with God to confirm what He would like me to share with you. Recently, God said He would like me to equip you with the truth of His Word about 'good character'.
Do you know that a good character with a good attitude can open great doors for you?
You may have the best skills and can perform your task exceptionally well but do you know what will keep you at your job or whatever you are doing (whether paid or unpaid)? It is a good character. When you have a good character, people will be able to relate with you freely, people will be able to trust you and you will have a good name.
You can teach people talents and skills, but a good character is something that most people have developed. Let me share an account from the Bible with you:
In those days when the number of disciples was increasing and some people's needs were being overlooked. The 12 disciples gathered together and spoke among themselves saying that it would not be right for them to neglect the ministry of the Word of God in order to wait on tables to meet some other needs. They decided to choose seven men of good and attested character and repute, full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom, whom they assigned to look after the people (Acts 6).
The first thing that the disciples prioritised was a good and attested character, then came 'filled with Holy Ghost and wisdom.' So as much as talent and gift are good, if you do not have a good character, people may struggle to work with you or may not want to relate with you.
Would you please take time to reflect on your character?
I'd like to encourage you to build your life on good character. A solid character will take you far in life.
To build a good character, consider the following:
1) Grow closer to God and follow His Word - You will grow in good character as you spend time in God's Word.
2) Fellowship with people with good character - If the Bible says that bad company corrupts good manners (1 Corinthians 15:33), the opposite of this is, good company promotes good manners. So take time to be with people with good character, they will rub off on you. If you spend a lot of time with people with bad manners, they will also rub off on you.
3) Understand the boundaries that are required to follow wherever you find yourself.
4) Ask God to open your eyes to what you need to improve in your character.
I love hearing from you in the comment section. Please take a minute to say hello in the comment section.
Enjoy the rest of your week.
Yours in Christ,
