A Call to Unity

Hello Readers & Followers,

How have you been? Thank God It's Friday! Thanks be to God who gives us victory over death and sin through our Lord Jesus Christ. I would like to apologise for not sharing a post on Monday.

This week's post is about unity. God is calling each and every one of us (Christians) to come together in unity of the faith. He is calling us to lay aside our disagreements, differences in personalities, differences in race, gender, social class, age, and for us to come together for the interests of the kingdom of God as we are all parts of the same body (Ephesians 4:25b NLT version).

As we build up the church, the Body of Christ and equip God's people to be more like Christ, God would like us to be united. The Word of God says in Ephesians 4:13 (ERV version):

This work must continue until we are all joined together in what we believe and in what we know about the Son of God. Our goal is to become like a full-grown man—to look just like Christ and have all his perfection.

When Christians are united, God's Word says that we will grow stronger and we will not be influenced by every new teaching we hear from people who are trying to deceive us - those who make clever plans and use every kind of trick to fool others into following the wrong way (Ephesians 4:14 ERV version).

When we are united, it makes the devil fear us, he will panic that we are united and are working together to destroy his tricks on earth. Above all, when we are united in Christ, the gospel will spread. A Scripture just came to my mind, the Word of God says in Deuteronomy 32:30a:

One shall chase a thousand and two shall chase ten thousand.

This Scripture is reminding us that as the church, the Body of Christ, our call is to stand as an army for Christ to exert God's power on earth. What does it mean to be an army on earth? An army is a group of people that fight for the interests of their country. Thus, we are to be an army of believers for Christ using the armour of God to fight against the tricks of the devil (would you like to know more about the armour of God? Please read Ephesians 6:10-18).

You can be a part of what God is doing during this season which is calling us to unite and to stay united. It starts with you being kind (being friendly and generous) to one another, focusing on the kingdom work, being tender-hearted and forgiving one another. As you are working towards unity, remember to test all spirits as the Scripture says in 1 John 4:1:

"Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world."
